My background

Hi, I am Shane, a current student at Purdue University’s Honors College, pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Economics. My interests lie at the intersection of technology, data, and decision-making, with a focus on artificial intelligence and its applications in real-world problem-solving. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve taken on challenging projects in machine learning, web development, and software engineering, refining my technical skills and analytical thinking. I also have experience in tutoring and web development, allowing me to bridge the gap between complex concepts and practical implementation.
Beyond academics, I’m always looking for ways to challenge myself whether it’s through leadership roles, competitive tennis, or creative pursuits. I believe in continuous self-improvement, both mentally and physically. I stay active by working out, rock climbing, and playing recreational sports, pushing myself to be better every day. I’m passionate about problem-solving and innovation, and I thrive in environments that push me to think critically and adapt quickly. In my free time, you’ll probably find me playing guitar, at the gym, or hanging out with friends.
My goal is to leverage my skills in computer science and economics to drive meaningful change, whether through entrepreneurship, research, or innovative software development. I’m particularly interested in the role of AI in finance, risk analysis, and market predictions, and I hope to work on projects that merge these fields. In the long term, I aim to develop technology-driven solutions that make complex systems more efficient and accessible. No matter where my career takes me, I want to continue learning, building, and pushing boundaries for positive change.

During my time at Kennebunk High School, I took a rigorous course load, including 12 AP/IB classes, and maintained a X GPA. I engaged in independent research at UNE (see work), and created many personal projects to hone my skills. Some relevant coursework is: AP Computer Science A (5), AP Calculus AB and BC (5), AP Language (4), AP Physics C Mechanics (4), IB Economics (X), AP Statistics (4), and IB Spanish (X). Beyond academics, I’m was involved in a leadership role at The Herd (school newspaper), captain of the tennis team, elected member of executive council and various other smaller roles. I also worked as a tutor, and as a part time server's assistant at Rosella KPT.
